What is it?
Launch a Library Loyalty Card for young people aged 13-24. Similar to loyalty cards available on the high street ours will encourage young people to visit the library in exchange for a 'freebie' gift from us. So in exchange for 6 visits they can have free tea/coffee/hot chocolate, biscuit, or a free CD or DVD hire. Young people must either join the library or be an existing member to qualify.
What sort of space will you need?
Any library that's willing to participate in the scheme. You'd need to check with staff that it's ok to give away freebies first!
When could it take place?
It could be a limited offer e.g. just for the summer only, or it could be ongoing.
You will need to promote your offer heavily with leaflets and posters and social media blogging etc. Animations and trailers would be fun too.
You will need to design and print
vouchers cards and some sort of stamp or special mark for staff to use on them.
You will need to find a way to record the number of vouchers and freebies that are given out and evaluate how successful the scheme is.
It might be a good idea to have some sort of event or party to launch the scheme to get maximum publicity.
You would need a team to organise food, drink, activities and handing out vouchers etc. Also to record the event.
