I really enjoyed volunteering to help with the summer reading challenge, I did it last year too! I recommend other people to take part as it gives you a chance to learn new skills and work with new people.
I have found it to be enjoyable and a lot of hard work. It has been enjoyable because of getting to meet new people every time I have volunteered. But it has been hard work with trying to keep the customers from waiting in the queue for long and helping the library with putting books back where they were.
Don't wait for the opportunity, just do it. This is such a wonderful voluntary job and so relaxed compared to other places.
I would recommend doing this because you can gain new skills and also it impresses future employers as it shows you have spent time out of school helping your local community.
Its quick but really gets you too think.

It is very fun if you want to gain confidence and try working with children and other adults.
Volunteering has built my self-confidence and I have developed new skills - organisational skill, improved my communication skills and also my creativity.
It allows you to connect with others.
I would tell other people that it is worth it if you love books or consider working with small children when you're older. Volunteering looks good on any university application or CV and also it is very morally worthwhile as you are helping people without getting anything back in return.
It's a great experience and one I would love to do again.
