What is a hack design?

A hack is an activity with reading at its heart. This could be anything from a poetry-themed DJ set or novel-inspired Minecraft, to book-related filmmaking or helping others to read.

Hack designs are ideas from other Hackers that haven’t been started yet. You can add your own hack design ideas to help inspire others and think up new creative ways to hack reading.

How do I enter?

Add your own hack design ideas to the Reading Hack website anytime between now and 30 June 2016 to be in with a chance of winning.

You can find out how popular your hack design is by seeing how many users turn it into an active hack. The little black tab on the top right hand size of your hack design will tell you how many times it’s been used – you can view this in the My Designs area of the hack search when you’re logged in.

Adding hack designs will also get you making your way up the leaders board where you can compete against other hackers from all over the country.

The prize
