Set a reading goal for 2016

  • Books

What is it?

A new year a new start, so why not set yourself a challenge of a reading goal?

How?

Do you wish you read more books more often, or different kinds of books? Perhaps you want to start reading poetry books instead of novels, or blogs instead of books. Set yourself a challenge and give yourself a deadline to see if you can achieve your reading goals.

Goodreads.com is a great tool to use to set yourself a reading goal and watch your progress.

Activity log

I have two and a quarter million words since September 2015 by September 2016. I would like to have read 3 million

I would love to start reading a bigger variety of books and genres so that I can develop my reading and writing skills.

How about reading all the books on the top 10 volunteer reads list?

This year, I want to read a wider variety of novels, and maybe write my own novel/fan fiction, so I'm challenging myself to read different genres, rather than what I usually go for. Right now, I'm finishing reading the Wicked Years series by Gregory Maguire, and I love it :)

I'm trying to branch out into new types of fiction this year. As I'm always short on time I thought it would be a good idea to try some collections of short stories. I've started on Neil Gaiman's 'Trigger Warning' and I'm really enjoying it so far :)
